“She was struck by the simple truth that sometimes the most ordinary things could be made extraordinary, simply by doing them with the right people…”
Sunlight flooded through the sheer curtains into Andrea’s room. It was 7.00 a.m. when her alarm went off and the ‘Whiplash’ finale drum roll began playing, she reached out for her phone to snooze the alarm.
Many people didn’t know, but Andrea was a true Scrapper. Well, scrappers are the kinds that do not have it easy in life nor are they born with a silver spoon; they have struggled to get to where they are right now. Scrappers normally never have it figured out, they change jobs, hop careers, procrastinate, run around and most importantly they never settle.
Andrea got ready by 8.00 a.m. and stepped into the kitchen. She needed to have some breakfast before she left. She kissed her mom good morning and began putting together a yummy sandwich. She gobbled it down with a glass of fresh orange juice and some dried berries. Suddenly her phone began to ring and she ran to pick up. Her heart skipped a beat as she saw the name on the screen. “Ethan !” 🙂
She pushed her door open and saw him standing at the porch with that cute smile on his face. Andrea was so happy to see him here. He was her rock. They were in love.
Being in love was a beautiful feeling. The butterflies and the feeling of belonging to someone special was something everyone yearned for. Somewhere she had read ‘Love is the friendship that caught fire‘, and that was something that she truly completely believed in. Andrea always thought that before getting into the complexities of a binding relationship one should experience mutual understanding, happiness, care and handling expectations in the comfort of a friendship. It made the transition into a relationship a lot more easier.
Not all love stories start at the first sight, sometimes you have to pass by that person a million times. Andrea and Ethan’s story was very much like that ! Ethan and Andrea knew each other since almost a decade. They were friends who became best friends and then true companions. There wasn’t a day when they wouldn’t talk or share stories about the happenings of the day. Andrea knew all about Ethan and there was nothing Ethan didn’t know about Andrea.
As they drove away Andrea stole a glance at Ethan “Gosh ! He still looked so good”.
“The best relationship is when you can act like lovers and best friends at the same time”
